1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 The JAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Procedures (see Administrative & Guidance Material, Section 3 - Certification, Part 2 - Procedures), describe the process for issuing Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) in accordance with JAR-21 Subpart E or N-E.
1.2 When a NAA has issued a STC in accordance with these Procedures, the JAA Certification Division publishes information on this STC in the lists, below.
1.3 In addition to the STC issued by the responsible NAA named in the list, some NAAs may have to issue their own STCs in order to comply with National laws.  Appropriate information can be provided by the NAAs on request.
2 INFORMATION PROVIDED
2.1 Details of the STCs issued in accordance with JAR-21 Subpart E or Subpart N-E, and the JAA STC Procedures, are sorted first per Product Type Certificate Holders, then per Product Type, Product Model and finally per STC number, in ascending alphabetical or numerical order.
2.2 The code of the approval reference number is the following:
NAA.21Ex.[NAA STC number] for STC issued under JAR-21 Subpart E

where :
NAA is the NAA designator in JAA system
x = 1 or 2 (Category of STC)
[NAA STC number] is the NAA number, in accordance with individual NAA own rules.
NAA.21NEx.[NAA STC number] for STC issued under JAR-21 Subpart N-E (Import)

where :
NAA is the NAA designator in JAA system
x = 1 or 2 (Category of STC)
[NAA STC number] is the NAA number, in accordance with individual NAA own rules.
2.3 STC can be issued, using JAR-21 Subpart E or N-E and JAA STC Procedures, on JAA product (see paragraph 3.1, below) but also on Non JAA product (see paragraph 3.2, below).

A JAA Product means a Product (Aircraft, Engine or Propeller, according to JAR-21) which has been certificated or validated in accordance with agreed JAA Procedures.

A Non JAA Product means a Product (according to JAR-21) which has been certificated or validated in accordance with national procedures, outside JAA system.  In such cases, the mutual recognition of STC is not automatically achieved, due to possible differences in Type Certification Bases of the Product between various JAA countries.  Validation by individual NAA is still necessary, in accordance with relevant national procedures.  Appropriate information can be provided by the NAAs on request.
